Row 1 (RS): Knit 


Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10: Knit 


Row 3: k1, kfb, k14, kfb, k2, kfb, k14, kfb, k1 (40sts) 


Row 5: k1, kfb, k16, kfb, k2, kfb, k16, kfb, k1 (44sts) 


Row 7: k1, kfb, k18, kfb, k2, kfb, k18, kfb, k1 (48sts) 


Row 9: k1, kfb, k20, kfb, k2, kfb, k20, kfb, k1 (52sts)






Foot 


Change to larger needles: Knit 8 rows

Row 19 (RS): k31, k2togtbl, turn 


Row 20 (WS): k11, k2tog, turn 




Begin Owl

Split for Cuff 




Redistribute sts evenly on needles so that the beginning of the next row will start in the middle of the row (to split the cuff and avoid having to seam the back of this section - use either a long-ish circular or dpns – otherwise it gets too tight & fiddly) 





Knit 17 rows.
